How to make Slime with Flour and Soap

In this post, we are going to explore together how to make slime with flour and soap no glue. This is a fun project that you and your children can enjoy and doing together. This is the type of cloud slime that can make for a good DIY craft project, and provide hours of entertainment after it is created.

Unlike glue slime, they only need a couple of ingredients in order to make this fun slime. You can enjoy creating the slime as one of your memorable science projects with your children. Like other fluffy, slime recipes, you can enjoy creating this slime from scratch, and then your children can play with it as one of their fun sensory activities.

How to make Slime with Flour and Soap and Water

Ingredients

1/8 cup Dawn dish soap add approximately 1/8 cup additional as needed

1/4 cup All purpose flour 

Warm water (optional)

Equipment

Step-By-Step Directions: how to make slime with soap

Step one: gather your ingredients

On a clean surface, gather your dish soap, all purpose, flour, and some warm water. For the dish soap I prefer to use Dawn dish soap as it’s my preferred kind in what I have on hand typically. You can use other types of dish soap, if you would rather. You also want to have some all purpose flour on hand. But when you think of all purpose flour, you never guessed that one of those purposes would be to create slime! Lol

Step two: add the ingredients together

Into the mixing bowl, add your all purpose, flour, then create a well into the center and add your dish soap. Mix the flour and soap together until they are well combined. Then sprinkle the water on top of your mixture. 

Step three: work it

Work your mixture until it is soft and slimy in texture. The flower and soap should be completely mixed into the slime.

Step four: any extras

At this point if you would like, you can add food coloring, and drops or glitter to the slime. If you choose to add any of these, make sure that you work them in to the slime thoroughly.

Storage

After your slime is created, it can be played with right away or stored for later. When you store it for later, you will want to wrap it securely in plastic wrap, steal it in a plastic storage bag, or airtight container. The goal is to make sure it stays nice and moist and does not dry out. As long as it stays sealed securely, it should last for several play times.

Can you use hand soap?

Rather than using dish soap, you can substitute it for hand soap if you prefer. The best type of hand soap to use is actually just plain old, generic hand soap, nothing fancy.

Can food color and be added?

Absolutely! If you Make the slime extra fun, you can add several drops of food coloring to the slime. Keep in mind, some types of soap may already have color to them, so make sure any food coloring you add will still create a good color of slime.

Can essential oils be added?

Yes, if you want to make the slime smell, good, you can add a few drops of essential oil.
