Tips and Tricks

Can you wash dish scrubbers in the washing machine?

Yes, most crochet scrubbies can be washed in the washing machine with the rest of the laundry. It’s a good idea to wash them on the cold cycle, and air dry. To be sure your specific yarn can be washed in the washing machine, please reference the yarn skein packaging just to be on the safe side.

Choosing the Scrubby Cotton Yarn

There are a lot of different types of yarn to choose from when you are making a kitchen dish scrubby. Scrubby cotton in yarn is a great option, but make sure to check out the different options available. Hobby Lobby has a lot of different types of yarn that works really well when you are making a kitchen dish scrubby. It all depends on your preference as to what type of scrubby yarn works the best for you.

What is the Best Hook Size to Use?

The best hook size will depend on what scrubby yarn you use. If you get a different type of scrubby yarn than what I used, you will want to reference the skein packaging to see what size hook the manufacturer recommends.

Adding a Hanging Loop

Before you completely finish your dish scrubbie you can add a small chain loop for hangin. These little loops make great hanging loops for little hooks to hang and dry.
