Materials
Green yarn – green worsted weight yarn is the easiest to work with, but you can also use velvet if you want a soft frog.
Blue yarn – the blue yarn is for the overalls, although you can use whatever color you prefer. You will want to use the same type of yarn as the frog’s body.
3.75 mm crochet hook – feel free to adjust the size of crochet hook used, so that it fits your yarn and stitching style. If you are unsure, look at the packaging on your skein of yarn. It will have a recommended size for that specific yarn.
10 mm safety eyes – safety eyes are optional, another great option is to use yarn or embroidery thread to stitch on the eyes.
A tapestry needle – to assemble the frog
Fiberfill Stuffing – you will need stuffing to fill the body of the crochet frog.

Tips for Crocheting Frog Patterns
Use stitch markers.
It’s a good idea to use stitch markers when you are making an amigurumi project. Use the stitch markers to mark the first stitch in each round.
Use an invisible single crochet decrease for a neater look.
Rather than using a normal decrease or single crochet two-together crochet stitch, I highly recommend that you use an invisible decrease stitch. This will help hide the fact that you are decreasing the stitches and will give it a nice smooth look.
Go for a smaller crochet hook.
If in doubt, it is a good idea to use a smaller crochet hook than you think. This way your stitches will be nice and tight so that you don’t have any holes in your project.
Don’t overstuff.
When adding the fiberfill stuffing, be careful that you don’t overstuff the frog. You want it to have enough, but not too much, so that it is still nice and soft.
Can beginners crochet frog amigurumi?
While beginners can crochet a frog, it might be a little bit more difficult than other crochet projects. I would highly recommend starting with another type of project before you try to tackle a frog. Don’t have ideas? I have a whole list of great beginner projects you can try.
Can I work this pattern in continuous rounds?
While yes, you can work this pattern in continuous rounds, it is much more difficult to keep track of where you are in the pattern. If you decide to do this, make sure you use a stitch marker to keep track of where each round starts and ends.
What type of yarn should I use for the crochet frog?
The easiest type of yarn to use is going to be a medium weight worsted-weight yarn. This way you can see your stitches. However, if you are feeling adventurous, you can also make this crochet frog out of velvet yarn. It is going to be much harder to see your stitches clearly, but you get to enjoy a nice soft frog when you are finished.
