Crochet Towel Pattern Tips and Tricks
Work in the back loops
I highly reccomend that you work your stitches through the back loops only. This way you will achieve beautiful textures with the worsted weight yarn. Using the back loop only method gives you the most lovely texture, by leaving the front loop open. Doing this is a great way to get the texture that you wont get if you work through both loops of your stitches.
The size of crochet hook
The size of crochet hook that you use for sure will depend on your stitching tension, as well as the specific yarn that you select. For most cotton yarn, you can use US size each crochet hook. However, be sure to reference the package on your skin of yarn to see what the manufacturer recommends as far as hook size, then increase or decrease the hook size Depending on your stitching tension.
Is this dish towel machine washable?
Yes, you can wash most cotton yarns in the washing machine. However, please be aware that some times it will change the color of the yarn, especially after several washings.
How long is the kitchen towel?
If you were looking for your kitchen towel to be a specific length, feel free to add more rose so that the finished length of towel is exactly what you were looking for.
Adding a hanging loop
If you want to add a hanging loop on your crochet hand towel, feel free to add a chain loop to any corner or edge of the towel when it is finished. This way you can easily hang it up to dry or to be easily accessible.
Where to get the yarn?
The best yarn to use for this project is worsted weight cotton yarn. You can find this yarn in 100% cotton at youer local craft store, like Hobby Lobby. Or you can purchase it online through different brands like lily sugar n cream. There are a lot of different yarn colors to choose from to give you a beautiful finished product.
