Crochet Christmas Tree Pattern
Yarn:
To make these crochet christmas trees for the garland, I used medium worsted weight yarn from Hobby Lobby. I chose this because the yarn is nice and soft, and has a lovely texture to work with. You can use any type of yarn you prefer, but in order to get a similar size, you will have the best results with a #4 medium weight yarn.

The Little Stars
R1. Make a Mr, ch 1, sc, *ch 3, sc* repeat 4 times, ch 3, join with a sl st to first sc st. A total of 5 points on the star
Assembly:
Finish off the yellow yarn, and sew the star at the top of the tree. Weave in any yarn ends.
If desired, you can also chain some brown yarn to make a garland to hang the trees. I did this by creating a chain of 40 stitches, then using a slip stitch at the top and back of the tree to join. Then chain 40 more stitches before adding the next tree. Repeat this process until all of the trees have been added, and you have some hanging over the end, to help with hanging it up. You are now finished and ready to decorate for the Christmas season.
Customizing Your Christmas Garland
You can easily add your own personal touch to the crochet christmas tree garland by mixing up a few things. Perhaps this can be done through the colors that you choose, or the embellishments that you add to the garland. No matter how you choose to customize your garland, it will turn out lovely!
Christmas Tree and Star Garland Free Crochet Pattern
A fun and easy way to customize your Christmas tree garland is to make it a combination of Christmas trees and stars. One of my favorite ways to do this is to make as many Christmas trees as you wish from the pattern above, then use this crochet star pattern to make stars, then assemble your garland alternating the trees and stars as you go.
Free Crochet Christmas Tree Ornament
Another fun way you can mix things up with this crochet christmas tree pattern is to use these little trees by themselves as Christmas tree ornaments. These are the perfect size, all you have to do is add a hanger to them before you start to trim your tree with these little trees.
Use the Trees for Gift Wrapping
Another great use for these little crochet Christmas trees is to use them to decorate your Christmas gifts this season. You can use them as your gift topper to bring a little bit of something extra to your gift giving.
Add Christmas Lights to your Garland
The last fun way that I wanted to mention, in which you can customize your Christmas tree garland is to add some Christmas lights to the garland as you hang it up for decoration. I like to twist the lights with the garland to give it some extra character.
FAQs
Can I make these trees using a double crochet stitch?
Yes, if you prefer to use a basic double crochet stitch to make these crochet Christmas trees, you can absolutely do that. Just please note that the trees will be taller than the ones in the pattern above.
Can I use bulky yarn to make these trees?
Although you can use bulky yarn to make this crochet Christmas tree garland, I would not recommend it. Bulky yarn has its uses, but for this project, it is likely to just make the trees harder to make, and harder to recognize their shape.
